I'd imagine there to be a lot more spray off that front foil. Just look at the mess that Hydroptere makes and it's foils are canted much more heavily so would deal with the lift better.
Seems like not such a big deal. The boat goes very fast without foils, and the foil is sized only to fly when the boat is going fast, so there shouldn't be as much speedup as when a Moth takes off. They can adjust the angle of attack a bit I'm sure so they can fine tune it. It won't be as pretty as active automated control but whatever.
