We have a friend, we'll call him Mr Late.
He has a Mach2 being delivered to Campione.
He has flights and should get to Campione the afternoon of the 16th.
What he doesn't have is accommodation.
He's blaming it on the Dubai heat...
If anyone can help him out or point him in the right direction, he would appreciate it greatly.
Contact us and we'll put you in touch with him...if he hasn't melted...
It should be noted that he is super light, super fit and has won a race of the Australian nationals. If he can keep his boat together and the weather is light, he could be a dark horse, barring any rum incidents.

housekeeping
a couple of pictures i have been sitting on from the worlds, first courtesy of Thierry and the second from Ben Rankine.
UPDATE:
Karl,
I purchased a 2 piece mail foil off a friend at the worlds and spent most evenings adapting it to suit the boat. Only got it ready for the final day of racing. On the way to the start line, after 20 seconds of foiling it failed thru the socket, pushrod tearing open the TE of the vertical.
Once the lifter had departed, the rapid descent must have overloaded the bottom leg of the gantry, it bucking under compression. I have a Dave Lister style articulating gantry which saved the rest of the gantry, but it rotated up and snapped the tiller off on the hull.
I was able to recover the lifter vertical, gantry and rudder were still attached, but the tiller/worm drive/extension goned.

who wants some?

There is a factory outlet shop nearby selling these bad boys for $8.25.
You read right - 2.3kg of lasagna for $8.25.
Leading up to, and during the worlds, I shall be eating nothing else.
I will bring a esky full of them with me on the 1000km drive down to belmont.
Anyone want me to bring them some?
It's gonna be windy.
I am taking orders.
Bootnote: Factory outlet shops sell defective, expired or excessive supplies of product.
Therefore there is something wrong with the above.
However you may also ask, what is right about it.

Weather at Belmont

While I am loathed to average and average, the above is the average of the wind speed at the 3 closest weather stations at 9am and 3pm.
Make of it what you want.
